8/3/2023 0 Comments Saffire mixcontrol program![]() To my surprise, that completely put an end to the random sync'ing issues. So, on a hunch, I completely disabled it altogether in Windows Privacy settings. I had a feeling the issue was related to Windows attempting to access my camera's mic, because it was the only other audio device connected to the PC. In the Sound Control Panel, I also noticed that the sample rate would change randomly and unpredictably. In my case, I had this ongoing, and rather vexing issue, whereby the Saffire would randomly go out of sync and the lock/FW lights would start blinking. Read further down to find out how I resolved it. Old post, but for anyone who might have this issue in the future, I had a similar problem recently with a Saffire PRO 14 after upgrading to Windows 10 Pro from Windows 7. This happens not so often, but the glitch it is more regular, and I don't really know what it is causing it.īut appart from that, the device works perfect, so I encourage to downgrade (make sure to setup Windows to prevent Windows from upgrading, I followed a guide that covered all escenarios). The only issue I experience is that from time to time there is like a little "incident" where audio glitchs for a moment, go silent, and then catch up and everythig is fine again, and sometimes (I don't if relate to that or not), some audio of a video I was watching and return to watch is out of sync, and it seems like every sound on the computer is out of sync, so I have to restart. I know what you mean, I also have a lot of programs, it took like 3 weeks of work to reinstall everything (all audio programs and plugins), but it was totally worth it as the device work as before. Since I did the downgrade everything works almost flawlessly (I will comment on that on a minute). I pretty much run everything at 96kHz/24bit on my Saffire Pro 26, so I set my Windows settings to that. If the above does not apply, then I would get to the Sound Device settings in Windows for the Saffire (I'm assuming you're trying to use it as your primary output device), and set the sample rate & bitrate to whatever you'd like to use for both regular Windows applications and also ASIO applications like Ableton. I found this out via a lot of testing, and it has saved my Saffire Pro 26 from the trash heap after I switched from a very old MacBook Pro to a new Windows laptop with Thunderbolt 3. If by chance you are using the Saffire via Thunderbolt 3, through the various Apple adapters, then I would recommend checking your computer's BIOS menu for an option like "Thunderbolt BIOS Assist Mode". ![]() Is this on a desktop, or a laptop? If it's a desktop, are you using a dedicated Firewire card? Does any one experience this or run a Saffire with the supported Windows 10 build without issues. I don't really dig reinstalling Windows 10 (and not able to get updates), but I guess it is my only option. ![]() My build is newer, I guess I should downgrade. Sometimes I need to restart.įocusrite support just make me download a Mix Control 3.8b1, but nothing changed.įocusrite support didnt bring this up, but I was already aware of this when I start investigating the issue. If all programs that causes this are closed and the device is restarted, sometimes it syncs again. So some software just randomly stop the device from funcioning. ![]() But if before I run some other audio like for example Spotify, then VLC has no problem. For example, if I turn on the PC and open a video on VLC, it happens. The problem is that certain software, or overlap of programs (for example, any screen recorder software with Ableton), causes the saffire to de-sync (FW and LKD leds blinking, Mix Control crashes), with some variations. When the device performs, it do as always. ![]()
