8/3/2023 0 Comments Slitterhead logoTo me the game trailer does look to me as I've suggested.īut as I've clarified above a trailer in now way reflects the game. I am experienced in these games (finished every silent hill / res / spin offs inc TEW1+2 as well as those chase games like outlast) and the horror genre as a whole. I do like art if that helps.īut if you ask fans of these games for their opinion expect to get an opinion from a fan haha and expect that opinion to be based on experience of playing these types of games. Though I've never watched sunnyphildleia show (is it good?) I googled the art critic and. But everyone has an opinion and that's okay. Just look at all the other future titles in the series and all the other games in the psychological horror genre that tried to capture the same magic and didn't live up to SH2. It's vastly different than any other horror game that came before it and even after it. There are plenty of Silent Hill fans that favor a different game in the series over SH2 that know that it deserves all the praise it gets. Don't act like it's just "SH2 fans" and that they don't care about the rest of the series. It's a good game, and it's definitely a good title in the series. My favorite is probably SH2, with SH3 being a close second, but that doesn't mean that SH4 isn't special in its own right. Definitely one of the most influential games in the genre. It was a huge milestone in the genre and its influence is still seen to this day. I would say the majority of Silent Hill fans/horror fans in general would say SH2 is the best in the series. The only thing "The Room" has over SH2 are the graphics. And those are the few times he actually speaks, most of the time he is just completely mute. Or "Damn, that woman is literally sitting in a pool of her own blood and is on the verge of death, I should ask her if she's okay". "Wow, there's a gaping hole that leads to the void in my bathroom. Just because he's a shut in doesn't mean he can't be phased by anything. Most monsters are impossible to outrun too, meaning you'll take lots of cheap hits which just means more backtracking. First of all, who's idea was it to put a hub world into a survival horror game? Like, you have to backtrack to the room every five minutes because the game barely gives you any health kits and you have to resort to healing in the room. In fact, Silent Hill 2 is miles better than the room based on gameplay alone. This was an early concept trailer (Slitter-Head is still in early development), but the action elements aren't anything that wasn't already confirmed. The concept art and motion capture footage was also showing off protagonists with katanas, motorcycle helmets, and masks, which is very different from the realistic "everyman"/no combat training characters from Silent Hill and Siren. But we will focus on making this a broader entertainment experience, rather than a hardcore horror game.” When pressed on whether this new title will lean more toward the horror themes of Silent Hill and Siren or the cuter anime-styled paranormal setting of Gravity Rush, he explained, “If anything, this will be more of a horror-oriented game. He explained that the game will include “battles and story elements” in the kind of richly authored worlds you might recognize from his games at Sony’s Japan Studio and Konami. Speaking with IGN Japan, the acclaimed developer explained that he is working on “an action-adventure game that will appeal to fans of my previous work”. He's been saying for the past year that this was going to be a horror-based action/adventure game with "action and speedy elements" and not a full hardcore "shake the human heart deeply" (in Takayoshi Sato's words) horror game.
